Our mission is to provide each client with independent, value-added advice that will help our clients meet their short-term and long-term needs. Tiller Consulting Group, Inc. was founded in 1984 by principals with many years of consulting experience and is woman-owned small business enterprise.
To maintain complete independence, Tiller Consulting Group, Inc. is compensated by and has direct responsibility only to the client for whom work is performed. No assignments are undertaken that would impair the firm's independence or objectivity. Tiller Consulting Group, Inc. is not owned by, nor does it own an interest in, any insurance company, agent, broker, claim administrator, or other entity whose services may be the subject of analysis. All work for a client is considered confidential and will not be released without the client's prior written permission.
Actuarial reports are not commodities. Tiller Consulting Group, Inc. prides itself on treating each project on its own merits, with no preconceived notions of the results. We carefully review the quantitative and qualitative information provided for consistency and possible problems. This approach results in value added to our work for our clients. Examples of situations we have discovered but of which the client was unaware include: stair-stepping of case reserves, excess insurance collections not requested, slow-down in claim closure, overpayment of fees to the claim administrator, the need for an unallocated loss adjustment expense (ULAE) reserve on the financial statement, and excess insurance premium due that was not reflected on the draft financial statement.
We use each client's data to the maximum extent possible. We use data from our other, similar clients as background information to help us decide if our assumptions and estimates for a client are reasonable.
